You can use Reporter Map without an account, with just an anonymous identifier, or add an optional account with email and password, Google, or Apple. How you delete your data depends on what you want to remove.
You can delete any report you've submitted at any time, directly in the app: open the report and select the delete option. Removal is immediate.
If you signed in with email and password, Google, or Apple, you can delete your account at any time from within the app:
If the account uses Sign in with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with your Apple account once more, so we can revoke the authorization granted to Reporter Map. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone. Afterwards, the app keeps working with a new anonymous identifier, with no link to the deleted account.
"Sign out" is different from "Delete account": signing out deletes nothing, and you can sign back into the same account whenever you want.
Suspended accounts: if the account was suspended for violating the Terms of Use, we keep a minimal record for security — the account identifier, the email or identifier of the sign-in method used, the date and reason of the suspension, and the link to the reports published by the account — for as long as the suspension is in effect, only to prevent it from being circumvented with a new account. Everything else is deleted as usual.
Access records: the IP address, date, and time of actions on reports (publishing, confirming, marking as resolved, flagging, blocking the origin) are not deleted with the account. Brazil's Marco Civil da Internet (Law 12,965/2014, art. 15) requires us to keep them for 6 months. They don't include your identifier or your account, are only disclosed under a court order, and are automatically deleted at the end of that period.
Reports you've already published are not deleted along with the account. They never showed who submitted them and remain visible on the map, since other people may have confirmed or followed them. After deletion, they stay on the map with no link to your account (except for suspended accounts and access records, described above), and you lose access to them.
If you want a report removed from the map, delete it in the app before deleting your account.
If you can no longer open the app, or if you never created an account and want the data associated with your anonymous identifier deleted, send an email to contact@reportermap.com. We delete the same data as in-app deletion; already-published reports stay on the map, as described above.
Technical diagnostic data (such as already-processed error reports) may take longer to be fully removed from infrastructure systems, but it stops being linked to you as soon as the deletion is complete.
For more details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
