Reporter Map was built so that anyone can report problems in their neighborhood — like potholes, broken streetlights, abandoned animals, dengue mosquito breeding sites, or noise — without having to identify themselves. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the app collects, what it's used for, and how you can control it.

There is no account creation with a name, email, phone number, or password. The first time you open the app, we automatically create an anonymous, random identifier, used only to technically tell one device apart from another — this identifier contains no personal data and is never shown to other users. If you uninstall and reinstall the app, a new identifier is generated and the previous one stops being used.
We only collect what's necessary for the collaborative map to work:
We do not collect your name, email, profile photo, contacts, social media accounts, or any data that directly identifies who you are.
Approved reports are publicly visible on the map to other app users, with a photo (if any), category, description, and location — but never the author. Whoever submitted the report is never shown to anyone, on any screen of the app.
For sensitive categories, such as a suspected sick person, the app doesn't show the exact address: the location is rounded to an approximate area of a few hundred meters, enough for neighbors to understand the situation without pointing to a specific house.
We use trusted cloud infrastructure providers to operate the app — storing reports and photos, anonymous authentication, sending notifications, usage statistics, and error reporting — plus a map provider to display the map inside the app. These providers act only as technical processors of our data, never reselling it or using it for their own advertising.
We do not sell data to third parties or use it for ads. Our usage and error reports never include the report's location, and the category is only recorded at the moment a report is created — never while viewing or browsing the map.
Reports and your anonymous identifier are stored for as long as they're useful to the app's purpose — for example, to keep your report history and your reputation within the community. You can delete a report you submitted at any time directly in the app. Since there's no account with associated personal data, uninstalling the app stops that device's anonymous identifier from being used.
In accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), you can request at any time confirmation, access, correction, or deletion of the data associated with your anonymous identifier by contacting us at contact@reportermap.com. Since we don't collect data that directly identifies who you are, we may need technical details from you (such as the approximate date of use) to locate the correct records.
Reporter Map is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from minors. Since the app doesn't ask for any personal identification data, there's no way to determine the age of who is using it; even so, use is recommended from age 13 onward, preferably with guidance from a parent or guardian.
Data is stored on cloud infrastructure with access controls and security rules that restrict who can read or change each piece of information. No system is 100% free of flaws, but we adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data under our responsibility.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or to applicable law. Relevant changes will be indicated by the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
